Wales prop Francis banned for eight weeks

Tomas Francis has been cited for coming into contact with Dan Cole's eyes

Wales and Exeter Chiefs prop Tomas Francis has been given an eight week ban for coming into contact with England prop Dan Cole’s eyes.

An independent Six Nations disciplinary committee banned Francis for ‘recklessly making contact with the eye or eye area’ of England prop Dan Cole.

The ban rules Francis out of this week’s Six Nations action until the 9th of May but he would be available for the European Champions Cup final should Exeter progress that far.

He will therefore miss the rest of Exeter’s regular season.
