Tuilagi to miss England’s Autumn Internationals

Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi looks set to miss England’s Autumn Internationals due to another injury.

Tigers director of Rugby Richard Cockerill has told BBC Radio Leicester that he expects Tuilagi to be out of action for up to eight weeks.

Tuilagi scored a try in Leicester’s opening match of the season but this was his only appearance so far this season.

Twenty-five-year-old Tuilagi’s has had a stuttering international career which has limited him to just 26 caps for England despite making his debut in 2011.

Tuilagi recently missed 15 months of rugby due to groin and hamstring problems.

“His groin is tight and we want to rehab that and get it right so it is done with,” said Cockerill.

“It is a little bit frustrating for him obviously but he’s working really hard in his rehab – he’s in good nick, his weight’s good and his attitude is brilliant at the moment.

“We’ve just got to be patient and when he’s right he’ll play.”
