Pretorius withdraws Currie Cup opposition applications

Phil Pretorius has withdrawn from two possible positions outside South Western Districts.

He has confirmed that he notified the Griffons that he is no longer interested in their coaching job, while he is also no longer in the running for the CEO job at Griquas.

Pretorius has applied for the Griffons job as coach Harry Pienaar’s contract expires at the end of October.

He is also one of 60 aqpplicants for the Griquas position.

“No, I’m no longer interested,” Pretorius said on Tuesday. “I made the decisions because of family reasons

“I need to settle down with my children who were never keen on Kimberley or Welkom.

“I will therefore stay in the Cape and possibly move back to Stellenbosch. “There is also a possibility of starting a business at Citrusdal,” Pretorius said.
