Greg Laidlaw kicked 16 points for Gloucester to help them to a 13-26 victory over Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership at AJ Bell stadium.
Laidlaw kicked four penalties and converted tries by John Afoa and Charlie Sharples for the Cherry and Whites.
Sam James scored a try for Sale Sharks in the first half and Will Addison kicked a penalty but the home side still trailed 8-17 at half time.
Cameron Neild gave Sale some hope in the second half but Laidlaw added a further three penalties.
