Loffreda wants ruthless Tigers

Leicester coach Marcelo Loffreda says that Leicester will have to become a lot more ruthless if they are to have any chance of being European champions next year.

The Tigers finished on a high with a 25-9 victory over Leinster but their campaign was derailed two weeks ago when they slumped to a shock 17-12 defeat against Edinburgh.

Loffreda says however that this season was not a total loss as it had taught them some valuable lessons.

“The Heineken Cup is more similar to a Test match than any other game. You must be clinical,” Loffreda told BBC Radio Leicester.

“These are the lessons that I can get from this great experience.”

This was Loffreda’s first Heineken Cup with the Tigers after he coached Argentina’s Pumas at the world cup where they finished third beating hosts France twice in the tournament.
