France suffer Jauzion blow

France’s Six Nations Championship preparations have been hit by the news that Yannick Jauzion will miss the opening two matches.

Jauzion, a centre, broke his hand during Toulouse’s Heineken Cup clash with Leicester in December.

He had undergone intensive rehabilitation but he will not be ready in time to face Scotland in the opening round.

Jauzion plans to return to rugby against either Auch on January the 25th or possibly a week later against Montpellier.

He may also miss the second match against Ireland but a realistic return would be against England on February the 23rd.

“I imagine I will be in contention for the third match, because they are going to keep the same 22 for the first two games in the opening week,” Jauzion told Sky.
