Gloucester go down in mud Bath

Bath closed the gap on Premiership leaders Gloucester on Friday night on a rain soaked pitch. Bath made the most of the conditions and led 3-0 at half time.

The result means that Bath are now just two points behind Gloucester on the Premiership table.

Despite the muddy conditions Scotland international & replacement Chris Paterson scored a magnificent try outpacing the Bath backs from inside his own half. Sadly he was unable to convert to Gloucester’s points tally stayed at 5.

Speaking after the match to the BBC,  Bath coach Steve Meehan said, “I am very satisfied with that, and very proud with the way the players knuckled down to the task.

“We were a better team than the margin showed. We didn’t go into our shells and played most of the rugby.

“We have done a good job on the leaders and we can take a lot of pride and self-belief out of that performance.”
