O’ Reilly back for Japan

Philip O’ Reilly will return on the openside-flank for Japan’s final World Cup Pool B fixture against Canada on Tuesday.

The New Zealand born flank was ruled out of the Wales game due to a hip injury he had sustained in Japan’s Pool B clash against Fiji a week prior to the Cardiff clash against Wales.

O’Reilly’s return effectively means that Hare Makiri, who himself was an injury scare earlier in Japan’s World Cup campaign, will return to the blindside.

Left wing Hirotoki Onozawa has been relegated to the bench following the inclusion of Go Aruga at full-back. The man who was at the back for the Welsh clash, Christian Loamanu will start the match against Canada on the left-wing.

Other than that coach John Kirwan has made just one alteration to his bench, with Ryota Asano being replaced by Luatangi Samurai Vatuvei in the No.18 jersey.

Kirwan will hope that his team can record their first win of the 2007 World Cup when te two teams meet in Bordeaux.
