Kirwan rings the changes

Japan coach John Kirwan on Monday named a completely different starting XV to that which lost 91-3 to the Wallabies at the weekend.

Not one of Saturday’s starting XV will start the Pool B encounter against Fiji on Wednesday.

More significantly Kirwan will start with a new captain in No.8 Takuro Muichi. It has been reported that a number of the changes were injury enforced but many players have been relegated to the bench.

In-form flanker and captain Takamichi Sasaki will miss the remainder of the tournament, after a scan revealed a grade-two medial cruciate ligament strain in his left knee.
