Force beat Rebels in Melbourne

Out of the last six Super Rugby matches between the Melbourne based Rebels and the Perth based Western Force the Perth side has won one match and the Rebels five.

We are waiting for the kick off.

The Force kick off and we are underway. 

2.00: The Force win an early penalty. Zack Holmes takes the kick and nails it. The Force lead. 

5.00: The Rebels try to run the ball out of their 22 but they get pushed into touch. 

7.00: The Rebels win the ball from a line out. They work the ball through the phases and after 8 phases they get into the Force’s 22. The Force take the ball into touch. 

8.00: The Rebels win the ball from the line out. They go wide after a couple of recycles. The Rebels get close after 6 phases and Timani goes over. He is held up so the Rebels are called back for a penalty. They choose a scrum. 

13.00: The Rebels win another penalty for not rolling away. They will go for posts. 

14.00: Mike Harris takes the kick and nails it. The scores are level. 

17.00: Penalty to the Force. Holmes slots the kick and the Force lead again. 

21.00: Lopeti Timani has taken a knock anc comes off for a concussion test. Sam Jeffries comes on. 

24.00: The Rebels win a penalty for holding on in their 22. Harris kicks for touch. 

26.00: The Rebels win another penalty after a maul from the line out for side entry. Harris will kick for posts. He misses. 

30.00: The Rebels break out from inside their half way after a scrum. Cam Crawford starts the break and the ball goes out wide and then comes back in for Crawford who is tackled but he slides across the line and scores.  The TMO check and they are called back for holding a player back/obstruction. No try. 

34.00: The Force get the ball into the Rebels 22. They use the pick and go as they work the ball forward. 

35.00: Penalty to the Force for joining the ruck incorrectly. Holmes will kick for the corner. The Rebels get a warning. 

36.00: The Force win the line out and they move the ball across the field. Chris Heiberg goes over. We go to the TMO to see if he was held up. TMO rules it was held up. 

38.00: Its all the Force. They are camped in the Rebels 22. They go through the phases until the Rebels turn the ball over. They take their time and then kick for touch. The ball goes out off a Force player so the Rebels get the put in. Last 5 minutes possession was 81% to the Force. 

40.00: The Rebels win the line out as the siren sounds and they put the ball into touch.

Jack Debreczeni kicks off and the second half is underway. 

42.00: The Rebels are playing with a little more intensity. 

44.00: The Rebels go on the attack and look to have number out widebut Luke Jones takes his eye off the ball and knocks on. 

45.00 The Force win the scrum and kick for touch. The Rebels win the line out. They get quick ball and go wide. 

48.00: Higginbotham gets the ball on the wing and chips it ahead. He chases but Luke Morahan gets back and dots the ball down behind the line. Rebels 5m scrum. 

52.00: The Rebels earn a penalty and decide to kick for posts to level the scores. Harris takes the kick and nails it.

55.00 The Rebels pile on the pressure again. Higginbotham goes over but loses the ball, The Force try to run the ball out but they get trapped and Sam Wykes dots the ball down. He comes off as the Rebels have a 5m scrum. 

59.00: Angus Cotrell almost gets an intercept but he knocks on and then kicks the ball away in frustration. 

62.00: Penalty to the Rebels. Harris lines up but misses. 

65.00: The Rebels look certain to try. They get the ball into the Force’s 22 with a three man overlap but Marcel Brache gets an intercept and passes to Luke Morahan who races away and scores the opening TRY! 

66.00: Holmes adds the conversion. 

71.00: The Rebels continue to attack and they send the ball out wide to Telusa Veainu who slides over in the corner. TRY! 

72.00: Harris takes the conversion kick from out wide near the touchline and he misses. 

76.00: The Rebels win the ball in the scrum but kick it to the Force in the scrum, somehow the Rebels get the ball back and attack. They are pushed into touch. 

77.00: The Force knock the ball on and the Rebels pounce on it. the Rebels work the ball to the 22m line. 

78.00: Harris goes for a drop goal but misses. 

79.00: The Rebels have the ball as the siren sounds on the half way line. 

80.00: The Rebels go through 10 phases on attack edging forward. 

81.00: The Force knock on and that is it. The Force win.
