Waratahs appeal Latu and Skelton suspensions

Super Rugby champions the Waratahs have appealed against hooker Silatolu Latu and lock Will Skelton’s four week and two week bans.

A SANZAR discplinary hearing suspended Latu for four weeks and suspended Skelton for two weeks earlier this week for a dangerous tackle in their match against the Crusaders.

The pair double-tackled Sam Whitelock and Latu was shown a yellow card for the incident in the match while Skelton escaped any further action for the incident.

The pair were then cited after the match and after a SANZAR hearing they were both suspended.

However the Waratahs have appealed both bans so Latu and Skelton’s will be heard on 28 May 2015 @ 5pm AEST.

The SANZAR Appeals Committee will be chaired by Lex Mpati, with Adam Casselden and Chris Morris as members
