Woodward on list of possible new France coaches

England’s Rugby World Cup winning coach Sir Clive Woodward is understood to be on a shortlist of possible replacements for France head coach Philippe Saint-Andre.

Woodward led England to a Six Nations Grand Slam title and then on to a Rugby World Cup title in 2003 but stood down in 2004.

According to L’Equipe Woodward has met with French rugby bosses about taking over as France head coach after the world cup and is on a shortlist of eight candidates.

The French Rugby Federation have acknowledged the shortlist but have refused to comment on who is on the list.

Whilst Woodward is understood to be on the shortlist Toulouse boss Guy Noves is thought to be the favourite to be the next France head coach.
