Chiefs sign two more for 2015 SuperRugby season

2012 and 2013 Super Rugby Champions the Chiefs have continued to build for the 2015 season by signing Tasman winger Bryce Heem and Auckland loose forward Sean Polwart.

All Blacks seven’s player Bryce Heem will join several of his Tasman team mates at the Chiefs for the 2015 season.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie views the strong wingers huge work rate off the ball as a major asset to his team.

“Bryce has been knocking on the door for super rugby for a while. He has had an impressive ITM Cup season with Tasman and his size, pace and skillset are very appealing to us.”

25-year-old Heem said “From the success the Chiefs have had and from what the Tasman players have said, it appears that the Chiefs Rugby Club is a very good set up that would suit my personality.”

The former New Zealand Barbarian has played ITM Cup for Northland and represented Auckland U20s.

Pukekohe born loose forward Sean Polwart is set to re-connect with his former New Zealand U20s coaches having won the Junior Championship under Dave Rennie in 2010.

“Sean is a top young man who has been strong for Auckland this season. We were impressed with Sean when he spent some time with us earlier this year. He has a huge work ethic, is great post tackle and compliments our loose forwards perfectly,” said Chiefs Coach Dave Rennie.

24-year-old Polwart said, “When I was with the Chiefs last season I was really impressed by their set-up. I believe that I will benefit strongly from the coaching and their environment.”

Polwart made his Investec Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2011 and played age group rugby for Auckland. He is currently in his fifth ITM Cup season with Auckland.
