Piutau set to return for Blues to face Crusaders

The Blues have been given a boost for their continued push towards the Super Rugby play offs as outside back Charles Piutau has been declared fully fit.

The Auckland Super Rugby side kept their play off chances alive for another week on Saturday when they beat the Western Force with a bonus point.

Piutau suffered an MCL strain in Round 13 (May the 9th) whilst playing for the Blues against the Chiefs and has been on the sidelines since.

The Blues play New Zealand Conference leaders the Crusaders this weekend in Christchurch and need another victory this weekend if they are to remain in contention.

The Blues came through their match against the Force largely unaffected by injury but Angus Ta’avao suffered a laceration to his nose during and had stitches.

Ofa Tu’ungafasi also jammed up his neck but it was a minor issue and both players are available this week.
