Du Plessis ruled out for the Super Rugby season

Bulls loose forward Jacques du Plessis has been ruled out for the rest of the Super Rugby season due to injury.

Du Plessis suffered a broken jaw playing for the Bulls in their 13-34 victory over Namibia in a Super Rugby warm up on Saturday.

Du Plessis has had surgery on the broken jaw which he suffered in an 11th minute tackle by Namibian No.8 Ronaldo Bothma.

The Bulls will sit out of Super Rugby for another week while the Australian and New Zealand teams play each other this weekend.

The Pretoria Super Rugby franchise return to Super Rugby next week when they face the Stormers in Cape Town and then finish the season at home in Pretoria against the Rebels.

The Bulls have an outside chance of reaching the play offs but they will need to win both of their remaining matches – preferably with bonus points – and hope that other teams lose their remaning matches.
