Sharks beat Blues in Albany

Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Blues and the Sharks the Durban based Sharks have won five out of five.

We are waiting for the kick off.

The Sharks kick off and we are underway.

2.00:The Blues win the first penalty of the match on the half way line so they kick for touch and the line out.

3.00: The Blues put the Sharks under pressure in their 22. However the Sharks turn the ball over and they run it over the half way line.

4.00: Penalty to the Sharks. Frans Steyn will take a shot at the posts.

5.00: Steyn takes the kick and nails it. The Sharks lead.

6.00: The Blues win a penalty back after the restart for not releasing. Simon Hickey will kick for posts.

7.00: Hickey takes the kick and he nails it to level the scores.

11.00: The Sharks work the ball into the Blues 22 from the restart. They get to the 5m line with a series of phases. S’bura Sithole makes a dash for the line but is stopped and then Bismarck du Plessis follows up and goes over for the first TRY!

12.00: Frans Steyn takes the conversion kick and nails it.

14.00: The Sharks win a penalty again after the restart. This one Hickey misses.

17.00: Penalty to the Sharks. Hickey lines up the kick. This one he nails.

18.00: Steyn overcooks the restart kick. The Blues then concede a penalty at the scrum so Steyn kicks high.

20.00: The Blues turn the ball over after a spell of attack from the Sharks with a big hit from Jerome Kaino. The Blues go through the phases on attack in the Sharks half.

23.00: The Sharks turn the ball over and work it into the Blues 22. They turn the ball over and kick it into touch.

24.00: Keegan Daniel tries the grubber kick through the Blues. JP Pietersen chases loses it and is tackled short of the line. He claims he was tackled without the ball so we go to the TMO who rules knock forward.

25.00: The Blues have a 5m scrum. The Sharks angle in so the Blues win a penalty. The Blues kick for touch.

26.00:The Sharks can’t get through the Blues defence after a line out so Steyn goes for a drop goal and nails it.

29.00: The Blues work the ball into the Sharks 22. The Blues win a penalty and the Sharks get a warning as they are conceding too many penalties. The Blues kick for the corner.

30.00: The Blues win the line out but they can’t get through and they concede a penalty. The Sharks kick for touch.

33.00: The Sharks work the ball upfield and they win another penalty. Steyn takes the kick and nails it.

34.00: Hayden Triggs comes on for Tom Donnelly. The Sharks win a penalty from a line out. The Blues get a warning. The Sharks will kick for posts again.

35.00: Steyn takes the kick but misses badly.

38.00: The Sharks win a scrum and JP Pietersen kicks for touch. The Blues win the line out and they kick back. The Sharks run a little and then Lolagi Visinia slices the ball into touch.

40.0: The Sharks win a line out as the siren sounds. The ball goes to a maul and is knocked on.

41.00: The Blues make a strong start to the match. They put the Sharks under pressure on their line. Jannie du Plessis is yellow carded for repeated offside. The Blues choose the scrum.

42.00:The Blues win the scrum and Luke Braid dashes for the line and scores under the posts. TRY!

43.00: Hickey adds the conversion.

46.00: The Sharks are playing a clever game whilst being a man down. Everything they are doing is slow except when they have the ball on attack. Mtembu has a break but is caught. The Sharks continue to attack but knock on.
