Brumbies v Waratahs Super Rugby Preview

The Waratahs are one of three Super Rugby teams this season who are still unbeaten
so they will hoping to leave Canberra with that status still intact.

The Brumbies have played the Waratahs 22 times in Super Rugby since 1996 and
in those 22 matches they have won 10 times. There have been no draws between
the teams.

That gives the Brumbies a record of winning 45% of their matches at all venues
against the Waratahs.

However, the average score across all venues when the Brumbies play the Waratahs
is Brumbies 25 Waratahs 21.

This weekend the Brumbies will have home advantage as the match will be played
in Canberra.

The Brumbies and Waratahs have played each other in Canberra 10 times and the
Brumbies have won 8 times and lost twice.

That gives the Brumbies a record of winning 80% of their matches against the
Waratahs at home.

The average score when the Brumbies play the Waratahs in Canberra is Brumbies
32 Waratahs 13.

In terms of form the Brumbies have been a little mixed this season as they
have played three matches and lost one.

They lost their opening match (at home) to the Reds and then bounced back with
a 14-27 victory over the Force in Perth.

The Brumbies best performance this season was arguably last week in Wellington
when they beat the Hurricanes 21-29. The Hurricanes were very poor last week
which might have made the Brumbies look good.

The Waratahs on the other hand have only played two matches this season – both
at home – and in both matches they have come away with bonus point wins. Last
week they had a bye so they will be hoping that they can carry their form through
the bye.

Israel Folau has been the star of the show for the Waratahs and has already
scored five tries. The Brumbies will need to keep a very close eye on him.

The Brumbies have retained the starting team that beat the Hurricanes last
week so they will have the benefit of consistency.

The Waratahs have also been consistent in their selections as they have made
just one change with Dave Dennis coming into the team as he has recovered from
a knee injury.

This week will be a real test for the Waratahs and could go a long way in showing
if they are the real deal. They have been one of the real form teams but they
are up against a Super Rugby finalist and they are away from home.

If the Waratahs are to be taken as title contenders this season they need to
win this weekend. They haven’t really shown any signs of weakness yet so the
Brumbies have their work cut out for them.

The Bookies
have given the Waratahs a 1 point start for this Match
– with
an offer of a FREE $150 BET.
As the Brumbies lost
their opening match in Canberra there is some doubt over their form. The Waratahs
haven’t given us any reasons to doubt them yet so we are going against home
advantage and the bookies. The Waratahs should win by 2.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 2/HD.
