Waylon Murray to play Super Rugby for the Bulls

Southern Kings back Waylon Murray has signed to play Super Rugby for the Bulls in Pretoria from next season.

The Southern Kings were relegated from Super Rugby for next season and many of their players are expected to sign for rival teams.

Murray’s agent James Adams confirmed on Twitter that the player would be moving from the Kings to Loftus for this year’s Currie Cup and that he has signed with the Bulls until the end of the 2015 season.

“I can officially confirm that @waylonmurray will be joining @BlueBullsRugby for #2013CurrieCup and has signed till 31 Oct 2015 @InTouchSports,” said Adams on Twitter.

The Bulls are also expected to announce that they have signed loose forward Jacques Engelbrecht, lock David Bulbring and Bok hooker Bandise Maku in the near future.

Later the Bulls confirmed that Murray would be joining the Pretoria franchise.

“We have just received the clearance, so can now officially announce the
signing,” said Bulls high performance manager Xander Janse van Rensburg.

“Waylon is a highly-rated player with heaps of experience, especially
at Super Rugby and Currie Cup level. He will add experience to our back division
as well as a cool head.”

Clearance was received from Murray’s Super Rugby franchise, the Southern Kings,
and the 27-year-old could be considered for selection ahead of Saturday’s Currie
Cup opener against Western Province in Cape Town.

His contract runs until October 31, 2015.
