Jackson starts for Ireland against France

Ireland have confirmed that Paddy Jackson will start this weekend against France at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

An opening had been left in the match 23 for the starting and replacement out half positions due to Jackson suffering from a tight hamstring, but he came through both kicking and training sessions as expected and will start on Saturday.

The confirmation that Jackson starts this weekend will most likely mean that he is the back up Ireland flyhalf and Ronan O’Gara’s international career has come to an end.

The uncapped Ian Madigan earns his first call up to an international matchday squad as he is named among the replacements.

The replacement tight head slot has also been confirmed with the uncapped Munster prop Stephen Archer named on the bench.
