Leicester get back to winning ways in LV Cup

Leicester Tigers got back to winning ways when they beat Gloucester 40-14 in the Anglo Welsh LV Cup at Welford Road on Friday night.

Leicester are second from bottom in the Aviva Premiership having played six and won one and in the LV Cup they have won one and lost one after going down 33-3 to the Scarlets last weekend.

The victory was Leicester Tigers first at Welford Road for the season after
going down in their three previous matches.

Leicester Tigers welcomed back a host of international stars and their quality
shone through in a one-sided contest.

England duo Dan Cole and Manu Tuilagi marked their return to club duty with
tries while Toby Flood bagged 18 points.

Gloucester prop Dan Murphy scored the first try of the night but four penalties
from Flood and tries from Cole and Tuilagi gave the hosts a healthy lead at
half-time.

Home hooker Tom Youngs crashed over soon after the restart to end any doubt
over the result. Lesley Vainikolo replied for the Cherry and Whites, but Leicester
had the final say through Horacio Agualla three minutes from time.
