Glasgow take Leinster scalp in Pro 12 Rugby

Glasgow Warriors claimed their first scalp with a 19-23 victory on Saturday night and in doing so, breached Leinster ‘s fortress in spectacular fashion at the RDS.

Though this was not a major drubbing by any standards, Glasgow earned their first win of the season with a performance that saw Leinster attacking a solid wall of defence as they tried to make amends in the last quarter.

Glasgow took the lead at the halfhour mark thanks to a try from Nick Campbell that set out their store but Leinster fought back to lead 13-10 at the break.

The second half saw Glasgow take the reigns and keep on galloping until a Stuart Hogg took the initiative to break a Leinster attack only to feed the ball to Peter Horne to do the honours.

Glasgow have had a sorry run of late, and came away the delighted victors after breaking Leinster ‘s unbeaten home run of 28 matches, leaving the hosts to take comfort in only a losing bonus point.
