Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby preview

Both teams will be coming into this match off a loss. The Brumbies loss was arguably more embarrassing as they lost to the Rebels who were playing in their second Super rugby match.

That Rebels loss was followed by the sacking of the coach Andy Friend.

Quite often when a team sacks their coach during the week the teams becomes a tighter unit and they go on to win handsomely. As Reds coach Ewen McKenzie pointed out in Europe they call it “The Electro-Shock because the coach and the team sparks up”.

The Brumbies situation this week will only make matters more difficult for the Reds. That is if it could get more difficult for the Reds.

Having lost both of their opening matches the Reds have admitted that their 2011 game plan is “not relevant” and that they have had to go back to the drawing board.

The Reds have an outstandingly bad record against the Brumbies. In the 16 matches between the two teams have met the Reds have won just once (in Brisbane) and lost 15 times.

On score averages in matches between these two teams the Brumbies normally score 30 points and the Reds score 15. Even last year when the Reds had their most successful season in almost a decade the Brumbies thumped the Reds 32-12 in Canberra.

Despite the Reds having a mountain to climb the the Bookies have given the Reds just five points as a start – with an offer of bet £10 and get £20 in Bets. Given the shock of the coaching saga, the Reds history against the Brumbies and way the Reds have struggled this season we can’t see the Reds getting within two tries of the Brumbies. Brumbies to win by 14.
