England full-back Iain Balshaw has extended his contract with Heineken Cup finalists Biarritz for another two years
Winger and Fullback joined Biarritz last year from Gloucester and played an integral part of Biarritz’s march to the European final where they lost to Toulouse.
The 31-year-old won 35 caps for England and came on to play in the 2003 World Cup final when England beat Australia to become world cup champions.
Although he was part of the team that Martin Johnson captained to world cup glory in Sydney he is not part of England boss Martin Johnson’s current squad.
Balshaw was a British and Irish Lion and played for them three times but injuries kept him out of the Tests in 2001 and 2005.
Biarritz begin their Top 14 campaign against Montpellier on August 13.
