Promising South Western District Eagles flyhalf Ricarco Croy has decided to join the Pumas. Croy, who will join the Witbank outfit in November, will be a huge loss for coach Johann Lerm’s SWD side.
Earlier this year Croy was SWD’s biggest star. He virtually beat Western Province on his own when the two teams clashed at Outeniqua Park. Croy’s move up North was confirmed by the Pumas management.
“Ricardo has already signed all the papers,” team manager Marius van Rensburg said.
With the arrival of former Springbok Gaffie du Toit at George just before the start of the Currie Cup season, Croy was relegated to the bench.
But last week he was picked at inside centre against the Pumas and played a blinder of a match.
Although he received a lot of praise for his performance in the No 12 jersey, it is known that Croy prefers the pivot spot.
