EP to help out the Eagles in Currie Cup

Eastern Province can do the South Western District Eagles a huge favour if they beat the Griffons in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

The Eagles are hosting the Border Bulldogs at Outeniqua Park in George, but will surely be keeping an eye on the in proceedings in Port Elizabeth.

EP beat the Bulldogs 37-28 over the weekend and by doing so “softened” the Border side for their clash this weekend.

And if EP manage to beat Northern Free State and prevent them from getting bonus point, the Eagles will move into second place on the First Division log, but then a five pointer against the Bulldogs is not negotiable.

But EP will strengthen their position with a five-pointer.

SWD are currently in third spot on the log with 17 points, followed by EP with 16.

Eagles tight head prop Willa Schoeman should be fit for the match after he pulled out with flu against the EP Elephants a fortnight ago.

The Eagles won that match 15-6.
