Cash-strapped French Top14 side Bourgoin, who nurtured the early talents of colourful French forward Sebastien Chabal, suffered another financial blow on Wednesday.
Bourgoin, last season’s European Challenge Cup runners-up, had hoped for a major financial injection from GL Events, but the company opted out leaving a cloud over the future of the club.
The club have already endured a nightmare start to the new league season and were forced to field a second-string side for their first game against Clermont.
