Myler’s boot keeps Northampton on top of Saracens

Stephen Myler’s boot kept the score-board ticking over as Northampton Saints beat Saracens at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday.

Glen Jackson slotted two penalties early-on to give Saracens the lead, but Myler converted a penalty of his own before Jackson re-established the six-point lead with another three-pointer.

Bruce Reihana ensured his side’s refreshments would taste better at half-time scoring the opening try for The Saints one minute before the break, but Myler was unable to give his side the lead as his conversion sailed wide.

Myler made up for his previous miss by slotting a penalty shortly after half-time to boost Northampton two points clear at 11-9.

The Saints fly-half kept racking up the points with his kicking as he converted three more penalties to lift his side to 20, while a penalty and a drop-goal from Jackson kept Sarries in touch.
