Roger Wilson banned for five weeks

Northampton Saints No.8 Roger Wilson was tonight banned for five weeks for a dangerous tackle on Harlequins flanker Will Skinner.

The Ireland international’s tackle came in the seventh minute of Northampton’s 23-13 victory against Harlequins.

Wilson pleaded guilty after being cited for the offence during the match at Franklin’s Gardens on December 20 and is suspended until February 9.

He can play again on February 10.

The RFU Disciplinary Panel at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn comprised Jeremy Summers (Chair), Julian Morris and John Doubleday.
