Skrela injured again

France outside-half David Skrela suffered another injury to his groin when making his comeback for Toulouse against Newport-Gwent Dragons in a Heineken Cup game on Saturday.

After three weeks on the sidelines, Skrela lasted just eight minutes of the encounter, departing the field just after setting up the first try for winger Maxime Medard.

Toulouse went on to win the game 26-13.

“I felt a pain in the first bit of action,” Skrela said.

“I couldn’t accelerate. I would have penalised the team by staying on the pitch. It was the same pain as I felt after the Australia game.”

Toulouse coach Guy Noves said Skrela had been taken off as a “precaution”.

Skrela suffered a groin strain during training on November 25.

The match on Saturday was his first since his disastrous showing in France’s 18-13 defeat to Australia at the Stade de France on November 22, when he missed 18 points with his boot.
