Ross Kennedy gets Super 14 lifeline

Kennedy was overlooked for next year’s squad with Jason Eaton, Bernie Upton, Luke Andrews, Paul Tito and Hayden Triggs preferred ahead of him but has been named in the Hurricanes’ wider training group for next year.

The 24 year old has played 28 games for the Hurricanes, including all 12 in last year’s run to the semifinal but made four appearances off the bench this year.

Some of the others who are included in the training group are prop Anthony Perenise, hooker Luke Mahoney, lock Jeremy Thrush, and first five-eighth Miah Nikora.

Manawatu flanker Nick Crosswell, Hawke’s Bay lock or loose forward George Naoupu and Taranaki halfback Brett Goodin complete the list.
