Lomu could play in Wales again

Ex All Black winger Jonah Lomu could return to Welsh rugby after he failed to land a contract in New Zealand with a Super 14 team. This has effectively ruled him out of next year’s World Cup so he has little reason to stay in NZ.

Lomu has dismissed speculation linking him with a change to rugby league and insists he is intent on playing out his career in union, possibly back in the Celtic League.

Last season Lomu played for the Cardiff Blues and recently told the BBC that a return to Wales is not out of the question

“That would be a possibility” he said.

“Everybody knows how much the Welsh love rugby but at this moment in time I am just summing up all my options and I will make a decision in the next month or so.

“Rugby league was an option, but we turned down an option just recently because we started in the professional era of rugby union so we might as well finish it as well.” he added.
