Cockbain banned for five weeks

A Rugby Football Union Disciplinary Hearing at the Leeds Brighouse Holiday Inn announced their ruling in the the case involving Brent Cockbain.


Cockbain of Sale Sharks, was cited by the Match Citing Officer, Matt Bayliss, for stamping contrary to Law 10(4)(b).


The incident happened in the game against Worcester Warriors at Edgeley Park on Friday, February 29, 2008 and Cockbain pleaded guilty to the offence.


The hearing ruled that he should be suspended for five weeks from March 4, 2008.


He can resume playing on April 9, 2008.
