Leinster’s new signing Isa Nacewa will have to support his new team from the sidelines as it has been confirmed that he broke his arm in the game against The Ospreys on Friday evening.
Nacewa has already had surgery on the injury that he picked up when he attempted to prevent Nikki Walker scoring.
The Kiwi will now miss Leinster’s opening two Heineken Cup matches, as well as Magners League games against Munster, Connacht and Glasgow.
A provisional return date has been filled in for the match against The Dragons on November 29.
“It’s a shame for Isa but at least we have good options with the other boys,” coach Michael Cheika insisted to IOL ahead of next weekend’s clash with Munster.
“We’d hope to have Isa back for that Magners League clash on the 29th if everything goes okay.”
“He did it late in the game and when I asked him what was wrong when he was walking off, he said: ‘I think I’ve broken my arm’.
“He had to make that last tackle like that so he’s a pretty tough character.”
