England and Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi has been ruled out of England’s tour to Australia next month due to injury.
Tuilagi had a scan yesterday and a review by the England medical team, it was advised that Tuilagi would be unavailable for the three-Test tour in June.
The Test centre spent most of last year recovering from injury and made a return to the England team at the end of the Six nations but has now been forced to withdraw from the squad.
“It’s bad luck for Manu so close to the tour but it provides a great opportunity for someone else,” said England head coach Eddie Jones.
“We wish Manu all the best and a quick recovery.”
A replacement for Tuilagi will be announced following the game against Wales on Sunday 29 May.
