Sharks sign Reds lock Dave McDuling for 2016

Durban Super Rugby franchise the Sharks have signed Reds lock, David McDuling
who will join the team until the end of 2016.

Known for his never-give-up attitude and athleticism around the park, McDuling
made his Super Rugby debut in 2014 against the Crusaders and has since amassed
a total of 12 Super Rugby caps for the Reds.

He also won the inaugural season of the National Rugby Championship with Brisbane
City and had the most carries and run metres of any second rower in the competition.

The Sharks Director of Rugby, Gary Gold said,”He has huge potential and
is an exciting prospect. At the Reds, he played behind the Wallaby captain James
Horwill and gained some valuable experience.

“He will certainly bolster our depth at lock and we look forward to welcoming
him to the Sharks family.”

David McDuling added,”I’m excited to be joining the Sharks at
this stage of my career. After speaking with Gary, I cannot wait to contribute
to a successful Sharks team starting with the upcoming Currie Cup. The
opportunity to live in a great city such as Durban and play for the Sharks
was one I did not hesitate to take.”

David will arrive in Durban next week to join the Sharks for their pre-season
training ahead of the start of the Currie Cup tournament.
