Saracens kick off title defence with Worcester win

Saracens kicked off their Aviva Premiership title defence with a Worcester 35-3 victory over Worcester Warriors at Twickenham.

The Premiership champions started slowly but led 6-3 at the break before they found their game in the second half.

Saracens scored all of the tries in the match and tries from Jamie George, Alex Lozowski, debutant Schalk Burger and Ben Spencer earned the champions a bonus point victory.

Saracens left the bonus point until late in the match as scrumhalf Spencer’s brilliant solo try only came in the 77th minute.

Saracens new Springbok world cup winner Schalk Burger crossed for a try on his debut for the club.

Worcester could only manage a single first half penalty in the match.

No Premiership team has ever won three consecutive titles but Saracens bonus point victory gives them the perfect start in the quest to make history.
