Salesi Ma’afu in custody over alleged assault

Salesi Ma'afu was involved in a punch up when he was Northampton Saints

Former Northampton Saints and Australian international prop Salesi Ma’afu is
in custody over an alleged assault in France.

The 32-year-old Toulon player, capped 14 times, is believed to have been involved
in a heated argument over a parking place on August 16 and to have hit someone
who attempted to intervene.

Ma’afu has not sparkled in pre-season friendlies since he joined the three-time
European champions from English side Northampton, and only came on for the last
half hour of the opening day 27-22 defeat to Racing-Metro on Friday.
