Aviva Premiership Rugby club Sale Sharks have signed Wales international and British and Irish Lions scrum half Mike Phillips.
Phillips will join Sale Sharks from French Top 14 Rugby club Racing 92 who are in the European Rugby Champions Cup final.
Mike started his career at Scarlets at the age of 20 and then moved to Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Bayonne before joining Racing 92 where he has played 15 games this season.
He has won 94 caps for Wales ( a record for a scrum half) and also played 5 Tests for the British and Irish Lions (Toured in 2009 + 2013)
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said, “ Mike will fit perfectly into our plans here at Sale Sharks. He is a big, powerful and very skilful player and has plenty of experience playing at the top level of the game. Mike will be one of three ex Racing 92 players at the club next season alongside Brian Mujati and Juandre Kruger.”
