Reds v Brumbies Super Rugby Previews

Out of the last five Super Rugby matches between the Brisbane based Reds and the Canberra based Brumbies the Queensland side have won one match.

The Brumbies have only won three of the last five matches as in April 2013 there was a 19 all draw in Brisbane.

Overall the Reds have played the Brumbies 25 times since the start of Super Rugby in 1996 and the Reds have won 5 matches and drawn one.

That gives the Reds a record of winning 20% of their matches against the Brumbies. The average score when the Reds play the Brumbies is ; Reds 15 Brumbies 28.

The match this weekend will be played in Brisbane where the teams have met on 11 occasions. In those 11 matches the Reds have won two and drawn one.

That gives the Reds a record of winning just 18% of their home matches against the Brumbies.

The average score when the Reds play the Brumbies is: Reds 17 Brumbies 24.

In terms of form the Brumbies are second in the overall standings having won three of their four matches. One of those victories was against the Reds who they beat 47-3 in Canberra in Round One.

In contrast the Reds are the last placed Australian team and they are in 13th place overall. They have played four matches so far and only beaten the Force at home.

In their last two matches the Reds have been beaten by the Highlanders and last week the Waratahs.

The Reds won’t be at full strength this weekend as James O’Connor was ruled out due to an injury and Lachie Turner is on a one game stand down due to an incident of concussion last week.

The Reds did get some injury relief though as former captain James Horwill and Ben Tapuai return to the starting line up.

The Brumbies have retained the team that beat the Western Force last week so they can expect some continuity.

The Bookies have given the Reds a 9 point start for this Match – with an offer of a FREE $150 BET. The Reds have really been struggling in recent weeks and the loss of James O’Connor and Lachie Turner will hurt even more. The Brumbies should win this comfortably by 15 or more.

This Match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 3/HD.
