Queensland Super Rugby franchise the Reds are understood to be looking to sign Japanes Rugby World Cup star fullback Ayumu Goromaru.
Goromaru was the star in Japan’s stunning Rugby World Cup victory over South Africa after scoring 24 points in the match. Japan won 34-32 in Brighton.
Reports have surfaced suggesting that the Reds are looking to sign Goromaru as a replacement for James O’Connor who was released from his contract earlier this month.
Goromaru would be an ideal replacement for O’Connor as he is an able goal-kicker and has show plenty of skill on attack.
The Reds will have a new look backline for 2016 as they have lost stalwarts Quade Cooper and Will Genia to European teams.
