Wallabies and Rebels playmaker Kurtley Beale will face court next year on an assault charge involving an incident with a bouncer at a well known Brisbane hotel.

A Queensland state Justice Department spokesman has confirmed that the Australian rugby union player's case would be heard on February the 6th - 11 days before the Rebels start their Super Rugby campaign against the Western Force.

Beale faced a preliminary court hearing in July for the incident on the morning before the Australia vs Wales Test match.

The incident in the hotel occurred after Beale and his Wallaby team mate Quade Cooper were refused entry at the hotel in the early hours of June 8.

The Australian Rugby Union put on hold any disciplinary action against Beale until the police matter was resolved, meaning he remained available for Super Rugby and the Wallabies.

Beale will start at flyhalf for Australia in a test match against England at Twickenham on Saturday.
