Aviva Premiership Rugby Club Saracens have lost former captain and scrum half Neil de Kock for up to three months.
Saracens played Biarritz on the weekend without De Kock and lost after he injured his arm the week before.
De Kock fractured his arm playing in Saracens 42-17 win over Benetton Treviso in the first Heineken Cup round this season.
De Kock underwent surgery on Monday to remove a plate in his arm from a previous break to aid the healing process.
Saracens say that they expect him to be out of rugby for 8-12 weeks with the fractured arm.
