Brumbies head coach Jake White has named new recruits Clyde Rathbone and David Pocock in the Brumbies team for a Super Rugby warm up against an ACT XV in Canberra.

The match is on Friday night at Viking Park 7pm and entrance is free and the players want the ACT to community to show up in big numbers.

The Brumbies starting line up features seven Wallabies, while Jesse Mogg, Nic White, Ben Mowen and Matt Toomua have come close to national selection in the last two seasons.

White said the match was a good chance for the team to get their combinations right ahead of the first competition match on February 16 against the Reds.

"As the first game of the year in Canberra we're really looking for a big crowd to turn up and support the team," White said.

"Like last year it's been a long pre-season and almost six months since a rugby ball was kicked in the ACT. This match is a good warm up for the main event next week against the Reds. "

"Our preparation to this point has been good so I'm expecting the team to play well on Friday.

"For the ACT XV players, this is another fantastic opportunity for them to show the professionals what they're capable of."
