Former Gloucester captain Jake Boer might not return to Kingsholm in the new season according to reports.
BBC Radio Gloucestershire understand that talks between the 35-year-old South African and the Cherry and Whites have broken down.
Last month Boer said that he was hoping to return to Gloucester not as a flank but in a mentoring or coaching role.
He made a surprise return to playing for the Kingholm club in October 2009 after he had playing for two seasons in South Africa.
Gloucester have refused to confirm or deny any of the reports coming out of the BBC.
