France international prop Sylvain Marconnet, who recently announced his departure from Stade Francais, will play at Biarritz next season, according to sources on Friday.

Marconnet, 34, joined Stade Francais from Grenoble in 1997, winning five French championship titles (1998, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2007) and playing in two European Cup finals (2001, 2005).

The prop, capped 80 times by France, had been in contact with Bayonne and Biarritz, but sources said he had plumped for the latter, who play Toulouse in the European Cup final on Saturday.
