Chris Paterson's three penalties were enough to see Edinburgh beat Stade Francais Paris 9-7 at Murrayfield, Edinburgh in the Heineken Cup.

Whilst Stade lost the match their losing bonus point was enough to see them qualify for the Heineken Cup quarter finals.

Stade scored the only try of the match when Pape crossed the whitewash and then France international Lionel Beauxis converted taking the visitors to a 6-7 lead at half time.

Edinburgh were the only team to score in the second half and Scotland kicker Chris Paterson booted his third penalty which won the match for the home side.
