Bath kept themselves in line to progress in the Anglo Welsh LV= Cup when they beat Northampton Saints 46-14 at The Recreation Ground on Saturday.

Bath will be hoping that this five point victory will secure them a Semi-final place but Saracens could equal them with two bonus point wins.

A loss for Saracens this week on Sunday to Worcester Warriors will ensure that Bath qualify.

Northampton Saints still top their pool however and a bonus point victory over London Wasps next week will ensure that they qualify for the Semi-finals.

Hooker Ross Batty and tighthead prop Anthony Perenise barged over and despite a reply from Alex Waller, second-half tries from Olly Woodburn, Stephen Donald and Charlie Beech ensured a bonus-point win for Ian McGeechan's outfit.

Saints were missing 10 players to England and the Saxons, with their tries coming from prop Alex Waller's try and nine points from Stephen Myler.

Man of the match was won by the South African flanker Francois Louw.
