Wallabies captain Stephen Moore

Wallabies captain Stephen Moore says that England deserved to win the series after they beat Australia 7-23 in front of a record crowd of 29,871 at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

England took an unassailable 2-0 in the series on Saturday after winning the first Test 28-39 in Brisbane a week earlier.

Wallabies captain Mooore paid tribute to England after convincing physical display which saw England seal the Cook Cup.

“England deserved to win both Tests and we just need to get better,” said Moore.

“They defended really well, we had a lot of ball down their end of the field and couldn’t get it over the line at crucial times, we’ll look at that and improve but they defended really well. ”

“There are moments in games that matter and we didn’t win enough of them tonight.”

“We didn’t build pressure at crucial times. I’m pretty gutted about it at the moment, we’ll own the performance and get better.”
