Lions confirm 2016 Super Rugby warm ups

Johannesburg based Super Rugby franchise the Lions have announced their Super Rugby pre-season warm up schedule for the 2016 season.

The Lions will kick off their Super Rugby campaign against Japan’s Sunwolves in Tokyo and in preparation for that match they will play four pre-season matches.

The last of these matches will be against Argentinian side the Jaguares in a friendly on 19 February in Johannesburg and the other three squad warm up matches are set against the Leopards, Valke and Blue Bulls.

The matches against the Leopards and the Valke will be played on the 6th of February.

Players recovering from injury over the past pre-season include Ross Cronje’, Ruan Combrink, Martin Muller, Justin Ackerman, Harold Vorster and Derick Minnie. Rehabilitation and recovery is on schedule for all players.

The Lions will also hold a training camp from 21-22 January 2016.

13 February 2016 Bulls vs. Lions Squad
19 February 2016 Lions vs. Jaguars
