England head coach Eddie Jones has named his team for the opening match of the 2016 Six Nations Championship match against Scotland on Saturday.
Jones has retained the same 23 players that he selected last week but also added Maro Itoje (Saracens), Elliot Daly (Wasps) who will travel with the squad to Scotland as reserves.
Josh Beaumont (Sale Sharks), Kieran Brookes (Northampton Saints), Luke Cowan-Dickie (Exeter Chiefs), Matt Kvesic (Gloucester Rugby), Matt Mullan (Wasps), Sam Hill (Exeter Chiefs), Semesa Rokoduguni (Bath Rugby), Marland Yarde (Harlequins) have all been released back to the Premiership squads.
Earlier this week, Jones said he “cannot wait” for the game at Murrayfield and added he has been impressed by the attitude of his players in the short time he has spent with them at the Pennyhill Park training base.
“We’ve done some good work and I’ve been really impressed with the players attitude, effort and want to make England into a winning team,” he said.
“At this point we are moving in the right direction.”
Jones is also aware of the welcome awaiting his side north of the border but says he is ready for the challenge.
“I’ve only been there (Murayfield) with Australia and Japan, it’s always a tricky place, they are canny the Scots. They always have little tricks up there sleeve so we need to be well prepared for it.”
